An hour and a half class to learn the basic elements of art while creating several projects based on 10-week session theme (Mexico and animals in art). Students will have the opportunity to explore many different materials such as paint, clay, recycled materials, printmaking and fabric.

Look, Think, Create: Observational Art for Big Kids (ages 8 – 14)
$27.00 per class drop-in fee/$108 monthly membership fee
Thursdays (3:45 - 5:15)
In this class, students will learn the building blocks of observational artistic skills from the ground up. They will explore drawing, self-portraits, still life, and landscapes in a variety of media (charcoal, colored pencil, pastel, watercolor and acrylics), often referencing the work of famous artists who have mastered these approaches. The focus will be on finding each student’s strengths, building their individual style, and pushing their technique to the next level. Students will also be introduced to the idea of building a portfolio of their strongest works, either for themselves, or in order to apply to a visual arts program.

Pixie Hall Studios Preschool Alternative
Pixie Hall Art Academy is a Reggio Emilia inspired licensed art school for children ages 2.5 – 5 years of age. The Reggio Emilia approach is designed to use art, nature, science, music, language, movement and exploration to build a child’s knowledge and understanding of the world around them. Our certified and trained staff will design a curriculum based on theReggio Emilia approach while integrating the appropriate preschool standards and preparing your child for kindergarten. We will also provide a safe, caring and creative environment for your child with frequent outings to local parks and merchants in Noe Valley and surrounding neighborhoods. There will be Fall and Spring parent-teacher conference and parent participation in the studio is encouraged! Organic and healthy snacks will be provided daily.

Ages 3.5 - 5 years
“Performing Arts Fridays” will give our students the opportunity to participate in an abundance of theatrical activities. We will have a wide-variety of performers, from musicians to puppeteers, demonstrate and teach students about their craft. We will have a class performance at the end of each session. Adults and friends welcome for theater performances and art gallery shows.
*Class size limited to 10 children per class. We will help with potty training!
